In partnership with the Roane County Chamber of Commerce, Ashley Insurance Agency now offers local chamber members Group Health Insurance Benefit options through a partnership with The Health Plan - Including the new Chamber Benefit Plan.
Overview
The Chamber Benefit Plan (CBP) is a multiple employer welfare agreement (MEWA) administered by The Health Plan and offers the protection of being a part of a larger self-funded pool of participants with predictable, fixed monthly payments. The Plan offers 11 competitive plan options, including consumer-driven choices that give you the flexibility to seek in- or out-of-network coverage.
Since our plans are medically-underwritten, we can offer competitive premium equivalent rates when compared to community-rated plans under the Affordable Care Act (ACA).
Plans are 12 month terms and begin on 1/1 of each year. However, if you sign up in the 4Q of the prior year, your rates, deductibles, and out of pocket maximums roll over as long as there is no change to the insured employees.
Eligibility
To qualify, your small business must be domiciled in West Virginia, have between 2-99 full-time eligible employees, and must be a member of a participating local chamber of commerce. We can provide a quote for a group that currently isn’t a member of one of the participating chambers but if they elect our CBP Option they would need to join one.
There is a participation requirement of 75% of full-time eligible employees, however, employees waiving because they have other coverage (spousal, Medicaid, Medicare, etc.) don’t count against the group participation requirement.
Application Steps
To get started, it only takes a few steps. In order to come up with a rate, we will need:
A completed Enrollment Application Form for each full-time employee.
If an employee chooses to waive coverage, the waiver must be signed (last page).
A signed Ashley Insurance HIPAA Authorization form for each employee.
Upload signed forms into our secure online portal, or drop them off at our office.
Note that quoted rates may change based on the number and health of proposed insureds in the group. A final quote cost will be determined once a complete list of all employees and their family members has applied.
